Railway Locomotive Cable
Cables for railway locomotives and rolling stock are suitable for wiring electrical equipment within vehicles operating at AC rated voltages of 3000V or below. Featuring a flexible structure, they can be used in environments contaminated by mineral oils and fuel oils. The cable’s long-term permissible operating temperature should not exceed 100°C.
Scope of Application for Railway Locomotive Cables
Railway locomotive wires and cables are used for electrical equipment in distribution systems, control systems, and signaling systems of railway passenger cars with rated voltages below 3kV. They are particularly suitable for confined spaces and environments requiring low smoke, halogen-free, and flame-retardant properties.
Operational Characteristics of Railway Locomotive Cables
- Rated voltage (AC): 500V, 750V, 1500V, 3000V; 2. Cable conductor long-term operating temperature: 125°C; short-circuit temperature: ≤250°C (5-second duration); 3. Minimum operating temperature: -40°C for non-high-strength thin-walled railway passenger car cables; -60°C for high-strength thin-walled railway passenger car cables; 4. Non-high-strength thin-walled railway passenger car cables are permitted for use in environments with grease contamination. High-strength thin-walled railway passenger car cables are permitted for use in harsh environments with grease contamination and non-high-concentration acid/alkali contamination; 5. Permissible bending radius for cable installation: – For cable diameters ≤10mm: ≤2 times the cable outer diameter; – For cable diameters >10mm ≤20mm: ≤4 times the cable outer diameter; – For cable diameters >20mm: ≤6 times the cable outer diameter.
